Camping de l’île is on the outskirts of the ‘floral town’ of Cosne-sur-Loire, just 2 hours from Paris on the left bank of the Loire River, between Burgundy and Berry.
Our campsite is on the banks of the Loire, overlooking the largest natural river in Europe! The Loire Valley is a great place for relaxation and activities, including canoe trips, bike rides and walks in a peaceful setting. We have 131 spacious pitches with electricity, including 10 state-of-the-art mobile homes, all marked out over an area of 4 hectares.
Our vineyards near Sancerre and Pouilly-sur-Loire produce the highly-acclaimed ‘Sancerre’, ‘Pouilly Fumé’ and ‘Coteaux du Giennois’ wines under the AOC label. Another star product is the ‘Crottin de Chavignol’, a goat’s cheese made locally in accordance with ancestral methods. The campsite has a wealth of information on the best tourist attractions in the surrounding area, as well as a list of the best restaurants, local produce… and much more! An unmissable site for families in the region is the historical Guédelon Castle, on a medieval site of construction with a magnificent park and many children’s workshops.
Set off in a canoe opposite the campsite, for a trip down the Loire River with ‘Canoë Evasion’, or hop on a bike and follow the famous ‘Loire à Vélo’ cycling route. And as a treat for the kids, no child should miss the O’Parc amusement park just next to the campsite.
You can enjoy meals in immediate proximity to the campsite at ‘Les Terrasse de l’île’ restaurant only 20 metres away.
