The Médiévales des Carmes festival is completely free and aims to make you feel as if you have gone back in time to the Middle Ages! It is always held on the 2nd weekend in September in cloisters, theatres and the Jardin des Carmes park.
This medieval festival is a true reflection of everyday life in the Middle Ages. The numerous reconstructions will give you an idea of how people lived inside the ramparts, and how they spoke in an ancient language! You will also realise that many were artists and craftspeople, with music, danse shows, theatre plays and scenes depicting all the main professions at that time (blacksmith, painter, poet, potter, glassmaker, cutler, etc).
